The leaf has the intense aroma of dried apricots but brews a malty cup, just like a classic Assam should. This organic tea is slightly sweet and grapey, but grippy enough for a splash of milk in the morning.
The Jamguri estate is in the northeast corner of Assam, near the meandering Dhansiri river. Under cultivation since 1898, the name “Jamguri” means “place of the jamun tree” after the Java plum trees which grow in the area. This estate exclusively produces organic and biodynamic teas in addition to a strong social commitment to their employees.
